Brian Baker

Brian was born in Cheyenne Wells Colorado. He grew up in Grand Junction. After a couple years in college he moved to Oregon to work for Apple. He then decided to make the trek to California where he got a job as IT Manager at Macrovision Corporation.

Monica Agudelo

Monica was born in Burbank California at St. Joseph’s hospital. She grew up in North Hollywood CA. As a child she moved around quite a bit graduating high school in Bakersfield, CA. With the encouragement of her older sister she decided to move to the Silicon Valley after high school where she started working in the high tech world. Monica eventually ended up at Globetrotter Software which was later acquired by Macrovison.

Their Story

Every year Macrovision would have a holiday party. The first year the two companies merged Monica had a hotel party after the company holiday party. One of the Globetrotter employee’s invited Brian to Monica’s hotel party without Monica’s knowledge. Without knowing they were co-workers Monica and Brian spotted each other from across the room. Their eyes locked as they walked toward one another. They flirted with each other as she touched his lapel and told him how sharp he looked in his suit; he of course returned the compliment as he blushed. Even though they did not start dating after that night, some could say it was “love at first site”. To this day Monica and Brian still remember that first moment they met.

The next week Brian went to Monica’s office to thank her for her hospitality and invite her to a hockey game. They began to hang out on a regular basis and became good friends after that. After three years of courting; Monica and Brian finally started to “officially” date as boyfriend and girlfriend.

On the evening of December 14, 2006 Brian came home with a strange nervousness about him. As he grabbed Monica’s hands he got on one knee (she knew what was coming next…).

“There is no perfect place, or perfect time, but we are perfect together”, he said as he proposed, “Yes, of course” replied Monica.

Monica and Brian will be married on November 8, 2008 at 4pm in Aptos, CA.
